John Marshall High School Receives Texas Food & Wine Alliance Grant

SAN ANTONIO, TX (January 24, 2023) – In 2022, the Texas Food and Wine Alliance granted John Marshall High School, a Texas ProStart high school, the $5,000 Favor Delivery Grant for Local Restaurants. Under the leadership of Chef BJ Salter, the John Marshall High School culinary arts program provides tools for diverse Alamo City students to thrive in hospitality industry careers. 

Grant funds will allow the school to purchase coffee equipment to establish a morning café. The student-driven project would allow socioeconomically diverse students to purchase chef coats and other necessities while providing real-world experience to help jumpstart culinary careers.
